Landscape from life

Homework assignment for Painting; this park is just a few blocks from where I live right now. I painted this sitting on the steps leading down to the fountain pool, in about three hours, with the sun in my eyes and my hands freezing; it's colder than it looks there. And in the scan, I finally notice that the bottom's really not dark enough.

Got a nice effect with the sun on the building, though.
