Artist's Comments

Sections of three different paintings that I'm working on just for my own pleasure. Well...and a sort of extremely late birthday, possibly Christmas gift. I scanned them all before starting work on them today, just in case I ruin them.

Most of the characters are from Changewind, my nonexistent comic. The two together are from 'Forge of Dawn,' the first book in the Kastor series Jesse is writing.

These are so lovely especially the top right one. I can't wait to see that finished. I love her hands, and the subtle color change on her palm. I also like the dappled light on her shoulder and ear.

The lines on the bottom left are gorgeous, they have a sort of sumi-e look to them.

I love how you do smiles. The one on the bottom right is just so.

What I like best about this is that, I had to look it over twice before I noticed that only one of the six characters has her eyes open. I think normally that would be kind of distracting, even off-putting, but not so here.
